UQonnect provides a community-based social platform that helps users connect with neighbors, discover local professionals, participate in community discussions, and discover events. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to users.

2. Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, UQonnect may collect account and profile information such as your name, username, email address, date of birth, home county, profile photos, biography, posts, comments, reactions, connections, messages and other content you choose to provide.

3. Information generated through use of UQonnect

We may process information about how you interact with UQonnect, including app activity, feature usage, interactions with content, professional profiles, reports, and technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service.

4. Purchases

When paid features are offered, payment transactions may be processed by third-party payment or platform providers. UQonnect may receive transaction-related information needed to confirm purchases, provide purchased features, maintain records, prevent fraud and provide support. UQonnect does not intend to store full payment-card numbers directly.

5. How information is used

We may use information to provide and personalize UQonnect, maintain accounts, display community content, facilitate connections, operate professional and event features, provide customer support, enforce our rules, improve safety, prevent abuse, process purchases, analyze service performance and comply with legal obligations.

6. Sharing and service providers

Information may be shared with service providers that help us host, secure, operate, analyze or support UQonnect, subject to appropriate safeguards. Public or community-facing information may also be visible to other users according to the product's privacy and visibility settings.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information and why it is retained.

8. Your choices and account deletion

Users may have controls for profile visibility and other privacy choices within UQonnect. UQonnect will provide a method to initiate permanent account deletion. When an eligible deletion request is completed, account information and associated personal data will be deleted or de-identified except where retention is required or permitted by law.

UQonnect is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not intended for children.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as UQonnect evolves. When appropriate, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice.
